Astrology weather segment with Astro Hottie Gaby ✧:* *・゚✧
We have moved into a season of seed sowing with a combination of the winter solstice, new moon, and a big Capricorn stellium earthy energy in the sky (we have 5 celestial bodies: the sun, moon, mercury, venus, and pluto all in Capricorn + Uranus and north node in Taurus!) Surely there is a lot to be excited about right now with all our new year visions and hopes coming into sight, but in addition, Jupiter has also ingressed into Aries from December 20th until May of 2023. What does that mean you ask? As Aries is a cardinal sign and cardinal signs (which include Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) mark the change of seasons throughout the year, with Jupiter embodying the energy of courage and initiative we are rewarded to learn new skills and take risks. With sky daddy Jupiter as the greater benefic in astrology (at least for day chart people) representing optimism, expansion, abundance, and spiritual journeys, we are aligned to fight for our dreams - especially if you are an avid lover of fiery astrological energy. Fire is alchemically synonymous with creation in addition to destruction. Take this extra confidence and make note of what houses in your chart are being blessed by Jupiter as well as what house is ruled by Capricorn to see what area of your life is getting the spotlight with this new moon and planetary stellium. Cancer risings, for instance, will find Jupiter blessing their 10th house and the new moon in their 7th house.
The disengage from Spiritual Capitalism Productivity Culture segment
With all this being said, I want to take a minute to acknowledge something that I see plague the astrology community and spiritual community at whole. If you find yourself exhausted at keeping up with every new moon and every beneficial ingress and feel forced to routine your way into “manifesting” consistently with an iron fist around your wishes, know that it is okay to take a step back. Spirituality has been commodified, as many of us hopefully know, into another stream of productivity culture. While Capricorn season ushers in a sense for hyper-productivity, remember that it is enough to just Be and exist with as much proximity to health, community, and pleasure as we can. Forgive yourself for what you don’t get to do and regularly applaud what you do get done, no matter how small. A huge part of the law of attraction that we tend to forget is that once we release a desire or intention into the universe, we gotta Let Go and Let God.™️ My medicine for my cap moon tendencies this season and beyond, which applies to any other detrimented moon or heavy saturn ruled people (or anyone battling impostor syndrome because we live in a society that ingrains scarcity mindsets within us), is to prioritize fun and letting go. I set the intention earlier this year that I don’t want to care about numbers or be too critical of my appearance on my social platforms anymore and return to my childlike pleasure of just sharing. Let this be a reminder that we take governance of our own spiritual routines, and we ultimately need to invite leisure in. As popular saying goes, “don’t save the candles” and indulge in life accordingly, not just after the work is done. As Capricorn loves structure, remember that we also set the systems of spiritual sustainability - they cannot be packaged or replicated to look one way or another. Always center on what feels good and authentic to your spiritual journey.
Back to music with NeptuneMuse ✧:* *・゚✧
All that said, 2022 has been a fantastic year for music. Because I always make monthly playlists I figured why not share mine this month? This past Sagittarius season I’ve been focused on expanding beyond the daily cycle of listening to my same 10 hyper fixation songs a month and indulging in the slowness of an album, a playlist, and artist discographies (no this has nothing to do with my expecting more variation from my Spotify wrapped 🧍🏽♀️). Because this month’s playlist has over 70 songs and 4 hours of play, you’ll be sure to find something new you like here! -at least if you like R&B, quiet storm (an r&b subgenre favorite of mine), afrobeats, and soft rock music.
For next year, In addition to my regular astrology tidbits I’m thinking about writing my reflections on the book I’ve been slow (I do mean slowww) reading this whole year, Post Colonial Astrology by Alice Sparkly Kat, as well as reviewing the movies/media I engage in, and talking more on fashion history and sustainability even! If there’s anything you’d love to hear me write about please let me know in the comments 🍒
Because I haven’t monetized this newsletter, if you wish to support me financially for my writing or music you can donate to me at @neptunemuse on cashapp or venmo as well buying or streaming my music (bandcamp is always more ethical as spotify pays $0.003 per stream, but everything vessel of support is deeply appreciated <3)
May this Capricorn season find you all safe, healthy, joyous, and with fertile soil for all your seeds of intention to bloom.
love,
neptunemuse 💌✨
